“Makapu’u Lookout, Oahu”

On the eastern tip of the island of Oahu is this amazing point looking out towards Makapu’u Beach.  As we stood there admiring the view, a family walked out past the viewing area, past signs warning people not to walk past the viewing area, and placed their daughter basically on the edge of a cliff with loose rock to get a better photo.  Hawaii is beautiful and dangerous, it has an edge to it that people on vacation sometimes don’t respect.  I am eternally grateful the child did not fall.  It took many layers of bright pigments to get the depth and color of the ocean there, the waters in Hawaii are so amazing. A beautiful day with friends, and this image to come home with.
