“Hamakua, Ocean Bound”

Driving back towards the ocean after a trek to see a waterfall, I was blown away by the sky, a dynamic sea of movement horizon to horizon. There was a big storm system some bit to the north of us and clearly there was a lot going on up there in the stratosphere. And then there was this very solid old tree, it’s weathered a lot of weather up there on the slopes of Mauna Loa. Oil on canvas, 21×34 $1075
