“Kealakekua Bay”

My family & I had the chance to get out on the water last winter on a boat offering snorkel tours and a bit of whale watching. I learned so much about local marine life and the challenges facing these very fragile ecosystems. This is Kealakekua Bay, one of the places spinner dolphins sleep in the afternoon, leaping in and out of the water while first one side of their brain sleeps, then the other, much as I do during meetings, much as I was that afternoon after a full day on the water. Oil on canvas, 18×29 $785.
