I am fascinated with our interactions with place, how it changes us and we change it as we move through this world.  Our day-to-day landscape affects us in ways we don’t always understand, these landscapes we don’t always pay attention to in our hectic lives.  It is also very important to me to paint sweeping views of open space while we still have them.  These are an homage to our endangered spaces, areas threatened by climate change and urban sprawl, and tend to reflect the intense emotion I feel when painting these beautiful moments in time.

My drawings are frequently a combination of elements, both working from an instinctual / ritualistic side and also responding to perceptual information. I use a wide range of drawing media as the process of mark-making is very important to me. In all of my work process is very important, and decisions made during the creative process are evident.

I am an award-winning artist originally from Fort Collins, Colorado. My work is in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Germany.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in studio art from St. Olaf College, graduating cum laude and with departmental distinction.  My MFA in Interdisciplinary Art was earned in 2012 from Goddard College in Port Townsend, Washington.
