North Beach, August

There’s something amazing about the light on the Olympic Peninsula.  Sure, we have a lot of gray drizzly days, but when the sun makes an appearance it really puts on a show.  Similar to being at high altitude, the light is clear, dazzling and brilliant, and it makes most of us a little bit silly.  This is a popular walk, usually populated with people and their cavorting dogs, but on this day I had the place to myself.  My dogs cavorted and swam while I basked in the light of August, the brilliance (and sillyness) that occurs up here on the 48th parallel.

“North Beach, August” is an oil painting on canvas, 36×48″, and I’m asking $1495 for it.  Prints are available, just shoot me an email.

Hoping there is a little sunshine and a little sillyness in your day,

Dawn
